October, 2010 I began a search for a JavaScript framework to provide a conventional structure to my applications. After spending hours (and hours) with JavaScriptMVC, , KnockOutJS, SproteCore and even Google's Web Toolkit nothing felt quite right. I setteled with Ben Naddel's corMVC because his code reminded me of the framework I would have written if I rolled my own. In fact, I even asked Ben to get corMVC up on GitHub so I could start playing with it and molding it to my needs. But, then I got some Backbone.
I stumbled on Backbone.js and I instantly recognized Backbone.js was something special. Everything had clear separation of concerns, my performance tests all looked fantastic and it offered me the modularity to unit test each aspect of my program using JSTestDrive in exactly the way I required of myself.
Not long after discovering Backbone.js, I shared it with James Brown who has obviously fallen in love with the framework. Next Tuesday, February 1st, 2011 I hope to share Backbone.js with you too!
Join me in Tampa, FL or online for my presentation to the Central Florida Web Developers User Group where I will walk through a simple application I developed to play with Backbone.js. Everyone who comes gets a full copy of the source and hopefully a fast track to understanding (at least what I understand) of this powerful JavaScript library from heaven.
